Apricot Mantle

  • Apricot Mantle

Apricot uses Prisma color pencils on archival board. His artwork is inspired by various Sci-fi and Horror movies, taking from them the cheesy and kitsch aspects. They are his envisionment of B movies that are fleshed out in his drawings, using vivid colors and horror elements. Using his carpentry skills for each piece he creates zaney frames that continue the theme into them.

Apricot Mantle was born in 1981. He attended Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Illustration with a minor in Digital Media. He currently divides his time creating his original colored pencil masterpieces and showing at several galleries in the local Los Angeles art community and working as a Production Artist for the Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Hollywood, California.
