I loved the concept of this and that red set the whole thing off like a bomb. Totally to die for.

Love it, even though it’s quite disturbing… now is it crawling in or coming out?

  4. Liga

    Just loved the concept!
Agree that the red added some needed drama. But also love the use of white that made the depth so real.
    Loved it!

Here’s a little behind the scenes:
Both the concept and the song lyrics are a reflection of a strange piece of my childhood. Dead center, warm desert night.. dry and harsh, New Mexico would have yearly plagues of june bugs dropping from the sky. If you looked up you may likely have one land on your face.
My dog quite enjoyed them for dinner, after he played with his food first.
We made him a bib, and instead of a lobster I drew a beetle with cutlery.
I recently researched and found the real name ..”ten-lined June beetle,” Polyphylla decimlineata.
They made an unnerving hissing sound if you touched them.. very mysterious insects.
All the way down to the strange sounds of the track chosen, I tried to imply a place and time.
Intense, I know.. but hey, a lot of artists have some insane internal dialogue about their ideas 🙂 Thank you for watching!
